Coach Outten is one of the longest serving head coaches for Bayshore SC. He was a two-sport athlete for the University of Mary Washington (soccer and baseball), where he helped take the men's soccer team to the NCAA Tournament in 1985 and 1987. Coach Outten then became a graduate assistant coach at Old Dominion University where he earned a master’s degree in education and sports management. He was an assistant coach for the Monarchs for seven years while also serving as head coach of the Virginia Olympic Development Program. After being named interim-head coach for Old Dominion University, he became head coach of the Washington College men's soccer team where he coached for nine seasons.
Coach Outten holds an "A" License from the USSF and an advanced diploma from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. He currently serves as head coach of the Kent Island High School men's varsity soccer team, who were Maryland state finalists in 2017.
